Myers Emergency Power Systems Unveils New Line of Illuminator Nova Inverters

BETHLEHEM, Pa., February 1, 2021 – Myers Emergency Power Systems (Myers EPS), a leading designer and manufacturer of backup power solutions, today announced the introduction of the Illuminator Nova line of central inverters, fulfilling emergency lighting requirements by powering the path of egress during critical outages. Featuring an industry-leading, space-saving, compact footprint design, the two highly efficient product families include the three-phase Illuminator Hypernova Series and the single-phase Illuminator Supernova Series.

The Illuminator Hypernova inverters offers a 40 percent smaller footprint than current Myers EPS’ Illuminator CIII units and boasts a modular cabinet configuration. These new product families feature a NEMA Type-1 space-saving design, allowing the inverters to easily fit into electrical rooms without overconsuming valuable floor space.

In addition, the Illuminator Nova series is available with Myers EPS’ IoT Inverter Connect Cloud technology. This smart communications software conveniently monitors and logs data from the company’s central emergency lighting inverters, while also notifying users when critical alarms and faults have been triggered.

Designed with large campuses in mind, the software platform allows users to add an unlimited number of inverters. This is ideal for a company with multiple buildings on one campus or those with multiple properties located throughout the country. System administrators can also group inverters for interfacing and corresponding with specific buildings/locations. The IoT Inverter Connect solution saves time and money, while enhancing overall building safety.

The Illuminator Hypernova and Supernova families are designed with Myers EPS’ advanced Pure Sine Wave technology, providing direct AC power to all lighting sources including LED, fluorescent and incandescent, while also guaranteeing a 2-millisecond transfer-time compared to the average eight-second delay from a generator. This is an important characteristic in medical facilities, schools and other applications that can’t afford long disruptions in power.

In addition, the Pure Sine Wave technology provides high efficiencies, up to 98 percent, allowing the inverters to run cool, eliminating the need to run fans under normal conditions and reducing overall operating costs of emergency lighting systems.
