June 05, 2025

BETHLEHEM TWP., Pa. – Jun 5, 2025 – Looking to power your industrial or commercial building without having to worry about outages?

A Lehigh Valley company wants to talk to you. Myers Emergency & Power Systems is beginning to manufacture battery energy storage systems, called EnerShed, at a factory at Lehigh Valley Industrial Park V in Bethlehem Township.

The company cut the ribbon on the facility on Wednesday and is looking to employ more than 50 when it’s fully up and running in coming weeks. Myers EPS will make the 11-foot-tall metal box-like structures that provide backup power.

They are placed outside buildings and contain sets of batteries. The system can also allow such businesses as manufacturers, hospitals, data centers or warehouses to cut down on energy consumption.

Officials give a tour of the Myers Emergency & Power Systems’ new, 50,000-square-foot battery energy storage manufacturing facility Wednesday, June 4, 2025, in Bethlehem Township. The company said the expansion will create at least 45 new skilled manufacturing jobs to its existing workforce of 235 employees.(Amy Shortell/The Morning Call)
